A safe space provides for me a break from judgment, unsolicited opinions, and having to rationalise myself. I feel respected, heard, and supported. The sharing circles help me feel safe and heard. A lot of gratitude for organising these circles.
A Mental Health Initiative
With Love We Care is a mental health initiative that aims at promoting mental well-being through creating awareness, reducing stigma, and providing safe spaces to individuals for honest conversations. We believe in the healing power of human connection and community inclusion. Through empowering individuals, raising public awareness and creating safe spaces, we can make the world a better place, one step at a time.
To educate and sensitize about the importance of mental health and wellbeing while aiming to reduce the stigma associated with mental health.
Stigma prevents individuals from seeking help or support and this leads to exacerbating the condition. We are fighting stigma and negative stereotypes around mental health and mental illness through multiple channels.
Provide Safe Spaces
Many of us find ourselves surrounded by judgement and stigma, when it comes to mental health. We all need a place, either physical or virtual, to open up and talk about how we are feeling, without the slightest hesitation. At With Love, we believe that providing access to safe spaces has a potential for positive impact on our mental health and emotional wellbeing.
“What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor, and more unashamed conversation.”
– Glenn Close
I was introduced to the Sharing Circle Initiative at an event in Delhi at the Sundar Nursery. I think it’s a wonderful concept. It offers a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space to share our feelings. I think the whole idea of being heard feels so empowering. To belong, to not feel alone & to have people care made me feel so warm & welcomed.
Mental Health has been one of the most important issues in this tech-driven world. First of all, I would like to Congratulate Farheen for starting WithLove in order to raise awareness of Mental Health & creating safe spaces. Sharing circles of With Love has been a very wonderful experience for me, where we can speak, listen, feel, connect that too without being judged at all.
An amazing effort by amazing people to bring their hearts together. Those who are in need sometimes hesitate to ask for help. This is a space where you can just be yourself. And being yourself gives you an uplifting feeling. A feeling that can take your worries away. Keep up the good work.
The sharing circle was first of its kind thing I was a part of and though we all were connected virtually, it did not affect our conversation in any way. Everyone I met there was first a stranger to me and after two hours of the sharing circle, it felt like it’s been years since we knew each other. On top of all, the feeling of empathy that connected all of us throughout was strangely beautiful.
Sometimes all we need is someone to hear us out, just a space to vent out everything you have inside. It may not be possible for every friend of yours or mine to hear us out without being inclined to an opinion. It’s frustrating. The sharing circle initiative is a space you feel comfortable at. You can take your own time to trust and understand. It’s not about you anymore here, it’s about us. When you share, everyone’s listening and it feels Amazing to be heard. I personally have had an amazing experience from it and most of all I have found a family in this space.
With Love came into my life at that perfect timing when I was very alone. I could not talk about my feelings with anyone. Nothing in my life would excite me or make me feel happy. Attending an awareness session conducted by With Love really helped me to open up. And when they started hosting Sharing Circles, I felt really good, happy, and relaxed. With Love is doing a really great job. Even in situations like these, they are organising Virtual Sharing Circles. Through these sharing circles, you not only feel good and can open yourself but you listen to everybody’s stories, pains, happiness, agonies and that inspires you and makes you feel that you are not alone suffering. Thank you so much With Love for always having your back.
It all started with an eagerness to attend a session on ‘mental health & self-love’. It was kind of new to me and also acted as a medium of socialization with strangers in Patna. I as an individual have always supported and taken part in such initiatives. But had never thought that this would turn into a blessing for having a bag full of lovely souls in my life. I do remember at the end of our first session, I went to Farheen and quoted “bahut accha laga”. From that day onwards I had never missed any of their sessions (sharing circle/meetups) held in Patna. Gradually “strangers” turned into “family”. Here we are now! Growing tall and nurturing our branches with hope, faith, love, compassion, understanding, support, safe space, and care.
I’m Komal, a second-year student from Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi. Since lockdown has been initiated and imposed on us, things have been in turmoil for most of us as we never suspected such a sudden unforeseen situation to dawn upon us. From a fast and furious way of living, the pandemic has been successful in changing our lifestyles completely. From school kids to old grandparents, everyone is trapped inside. Trapped, still with a hope to see the sunlight again on streets and roads, to meet our beloved soon, to spend time again with friends and to be back home again, for those who are still not. Everyone is trapped, though trapped with a lot of hopes! But amidst all these tough times, I found my safe & comfort zone in the Virtual Sharing Circles that are weekly organized by Ms. Farheen. Truly, it has been amazing to attend the Virtual sharing circles, to be able to share and to listen to different voices that seemed obscure after repeated lockdown extensions! All the sessions have been really engaging, overwhelming, and relaxing! The kind of peace and satisfaction you get to feel from one’s story and the feeling that you are not alone in this, will fill you with immense motivation and hope that this too shall pass, soon. Everyone is highly welcoming and appreciating in the team and you’ll indeed get the feel of a family here!
